A report by the &lt;b style=""&gt;UK's Royal Society of Chemistry&lt;/b&gt; (RSC) says chemicals from &lt;b style=""&gt;consumer products and drugs &lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="color:red;"&gt;could be breaking down and recombining into a harmful brew in water supplies.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The report, released on Monday, says &lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color:red;"&gt;synthetic chemicals in shampoos, perfumes, medicines and other health care products&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; that are washed down the drain are sneaking through the filters at water purification plants. The list includes &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;phthalates,&lt;/span&gt; a family of some 120 chemicals linked to reproductive problems in men and wildlife, and &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;parabens&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;a preservative with a suspected link to breast cancer.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Though concentrations of such chemicals in water &lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;are probably too low&lt;/span&gt; to be harmful, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;the effects of their breakdown products are poorly understood,&lt;/span&gt; says Jeff Hardy of the RSC.    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;A study released on &lt;b style=""&gt;Monday November 12, 2007&lt;/b&gt; shows that children with ADHD have &lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color:blue;"&gt;delayed development of critical parts of the brain&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The research team from the &lt;b style=""&gt;National Institute of Mental Health&lt;/b&gt;, used &lt;b style=""&gt;MRI&lt;/b&gt; scans to measure the cortex thickness at &lt;b style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;40,000 points&lt;/b&gt; in the brains of &lt;b style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;223 children with ADHD&lt;/b&gt; and &lt;b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;223 children without ADHD&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;.&lt;/span&gt; The MRI scans were repeated at &lt;b style=""&gt;three-year intervals&lt;/b&gt; over a period of years on both groups of children, as they grew up.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The development of the &lt;b style=""&gt;higher-order functions&lt;/b&gt; and areas which coordinate those with the motor areas in the brain&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color:red;"&gt; were delayed in the ADHD children!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;In the &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;ADHD&lt;/span&gt; children, there was one area of the brain that developed faster than normal, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;the motor cortex.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The researchers said &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;this faster than normal development in the area responsible for motor control&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;might account for the restlessness and fidgety symptoms common among children with&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;ADHD&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:14;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;Consider this:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt; will affect brain development. color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;“treat”&lt;/span&gt; the parts of the brain that are abnormal, then it was not science but part of a criminal act.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to knowing how to raise healthy children.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;The Results:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc"&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;In      both countries the &lt;b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;breast-fed      children had a higher IQ by about 6 to 7 points&lt;/b&gt; as compared to formula      feed babies&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;b style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;BUT,&lt;/b&gt; the intelligence was only      higher if they had a Gene variant called &lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;FADS2&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;that&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; enabled the children to more efficiently process      fatty acids.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;FADS2&lt;/span&gt;      is found in about 90 percent of people&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;The      increase in intelligence &lt;b style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;was the      same no matter&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt; the mother's social class or IQ.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;The      effect of &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;FADS2 &lt;/span&gt;gene variant &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; and the dosage was adjusted to achieve the optimal ratios.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;After the (8) eight week trial the children were evaluated for behavior changes and&lt;/span&gt; t&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;hat gave health benefits in the most recent low fat study recommendations, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color:blue;"&gt;NOT&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/b&gt; &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;so how could all fat be bad for you?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;Your brain is over 50 % essential fatty acids&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;so how could all fats be bad for you?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;    &lt;p style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;The answer is as simple as it is powerful:&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;There are fats that will heal you and &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;there are fats that will kill you.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Your body requires fats to live, that is a scientific fact, not my opinion.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;The lack of dietary essential omega 3 fatty acids is a major cause for immune injury in most &lt;st1:country-region st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;U.S.&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:country-region&gt; citizens.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);"&gt;It is just a matter of knowing what essential fatty acids to consume in your diet and in what quantity on a daily basis.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;I have included information on two other studies backing up this recent study at the end of this article.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;Here are some principles to follow when adding essential fatty acids to your daily diet:&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;ul style="margin-top: 0in;" type="disc"&gt;&lt;li class="MsoNormal" style=""&gt;You      must assure there is a large amount of Fresh Live Green Plant Enzymes in      the diet. I recommend and use myself a vegetable greens powder that is dried      below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, that I mix with all the water I drink daily.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0.25in;"&gt;To add the Oil to your diet without the Green plant enzymes would be like drinking water but not breathing. There is an &lt;b style=""&gt;optimal ratio of the various oils,&lt;/b&gt; so I do not recommend taking Omega 3, 6 and 9 oils separately, but rather a pre-blended oil such as &lt;b style=""&gt;Udo’s Oil 3-6-9 Blend&lt;/b&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;Warning: Over consummation of fats is as harmful as is taking too little!&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;Quantity is the Key.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);"&gt;Flora,&lt;/span&gt; the company that makes Udo’s Oil, recommends one tablespoon per day for every fifty (50) pounds of body weight.(Example: Child weighs 50 pounds ,1 tablespoon per day, Adult weighs 150 lbs ,3 tablespoons per day)&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;For a child that is already conditioned and addicted to sugars (simple carbohydrates)&lt;/span&gt;,it may be difficult to have them drink water with the Greens powder dissolved in it or take the Udo’s Oil straight, so try mixing both with a Organic apple sauce, avocado guacamole, fresh hummus or any other non cooked fresh food that the child desires and will willingly eat.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Wisdom dictates that you shouldn't force the Greens or Oil directly to a child who for years has been eating all the wrong foods, especially a “picky” eater. There is more of a physiological rather than psychological reason for this.As a parent you know what they will eat, so if after sampling the Greens and Oil they do not like them, put it in the foods they do and just don’t tell them.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;I am amazed on how so called “modern” parents allow power struggles between the child and the parents, to harm the health of the child and put the family’s finances at risk by a nutrient deprived diet.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Children are always negotiating the limits of a relationship with their parents and wise parents, having been children themselves, should remember this and not submit to the authority of the child but rather exercise it over the child skillfully.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(51, 51, 255);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;To illustrate the point of why children will eat whatever you present to them, here is an example:&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;At one of my lectures when I was discussing the importance of Essential fatty acids, an attractive silver haired Lady, who I later found out was in her 80’s, mentioned that her mother faithfully fed her Cod Liver Oil every day when she was a child. I asked her if she had “liked” it and the passage of years could not erase the look of distaste that came across her face at the mention of Cod Liver Oil! (&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;cod liver oil of days gone by, tasted and smelled like dead rotten fish!!&lt;/span&gt;)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);" class="MsoNormal"&gt;Neither could the passage of years erase the look of fear, when I asked her what would of happened to her if she had refused to take the Cod Liver Oil.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;She assured me that in her parents house you respected and obeyed the parents no matter what they fed you.&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Later after the lecture the lady confessed to me that her whole life she had never been very sick or easily emotionally disturbed, and her skin, nails and hair were always the envy of her female companions.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Her question to me was if I thought the Cod Liver Oil had contributed to her long and healthy life, my answer was Yes. Her parents had started off her life giving her a strong foundation of essential fatty acids and a large amount of fresh foods.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;She has started using the Greens I recommend and taking the Udo’s Oil daily. After getting to her I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the audience of one of my lectures 30 years from now. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The sad thing was she had not continued using essential fatty acids after leaving home as a young woman. mcg of mercury per gram of fish&lt;/strong&gt;:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Shark&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Swordfish&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Tilefish&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;king mackerel &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;The fish listed below contain anywhere from &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;1/8 to 1/100th&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; the amounts of mercury found in the fish listed above:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;cod&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Herring&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;clams&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Salmon&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;scallops&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Example:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A 7 ounce (180 grams) serving of a fish containing the low side figure of &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;.7 mcg&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; of mercury per gram of fish would contain &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;126 mcg of mercury!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;The high side of 1.4 mcg, would be &lt;strong&gt;252 mcg of mercury!!!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The &lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;EPA&lt;/span&gt; has for years has said a person could safely ingest &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;0.1 mcg&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;of mercury &lt;span style="color:#000000;"&gt;per day&lt;/span&gt; per kilogram(2.2 pounds) of body weight&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;Example: &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;For a 132 pound woman&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;, that would mean about &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;6 mcg a day of mercury&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; performed better&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; on the test than those in the comparison group.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;There is a safety factor involved with using Plant based Essential Fats,ALA,&lt;/span&gt; &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#ff0000;"&gt;too much fish oil increases inflammation&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; due to the extreme sensitivity of DHA to damage caused by oxidative stress.&lt;br /&gt;This is similar to the override process at work when you consume too many simple carbohydrates such as:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;sugar&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;honey&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;starches&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;instead of large varieties of plant based Complex Carbohydrates.When you consume the right &lt;span style="color:#3333ff;"&gt;minerals, vitamins, essential fats and complex carbohydrates together&lt;/span&gt;
